The Artist Is Busy

This work is meant to be a humorous take on the “The Artist Is Present” by Marina Abramović, performed at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York in 2010.

For “The Artist Is Busy” (2019), Valcourt-Synnott will use the desk area throughout the duration of the exhibition to work on her thesis. The artist will be present in the gallery space, but unavailable to discuss the piece. She will use that time instead to work on her thesis writing for the upcoming semester review.

They will also be invited to take away some objects on display throughout the two weeks of the exhibition. These objects might change without notice.
